Exam and Consultation

Through examination and consultation, our dental team will check your health and oral condition. This ensures that your oral health is in good condition and whether dental problems need to be addressed.

If you have any problems with your teeth or gums, your doctor will advise you on appropriate treatment.

The American Dental Association recommends that you visit your dentist every 6 months for a dental checkup. So make sure to book your own schedule!

Oral Hygiene Instruction (OHI)

No matter how regularly you visit the dentist, the most critical factor for your healthy mouth lies in your hand. In other words, you need to develop healthy dental habits early in life.

Understanding this need, EMW Dental Crew provides you with free Oral Hygiene Instruction. You will be guided on how to brush your teeth properly, remove food particles using floss, which food to eat at a moderate frequency (hard or acidic foods), and solutions for your teeth grinding at night.

In this instruction, we offer dentistry knowledge to our patients in order to enhance their understanding of dental disease prevention, giving them tips and recommendations on caring for their teeth and even detecting any problems early on.

X-ray

X- rays will help our doctors better understand the condition of your teeth.

At EMW Dentistry, we offer you the convenience of having X-rays taken at my office. With our Cone Beam CT machine, 3D digital images of your teeth can be accurately captured.

You also don’t waste much time because you don’t need to go to other centers to get X-rays and send the films to our clinic. All you need is about 10 minutes to complete the process at East Meets West Dentistry.

This is a simple procedure in which an acrylic coating, similar in color to the teeth, is applied to the tooth surfaces to prevent the formation of cavities on the biting surfaces of the teeth.

The coating, or sealant, acts as a protective barrier to shield the tooth enamel from plaque buildup and acid (from food adhering to uneven surfaces). This barrier also helps to level the surface of these teeth (typically the front and back teeth) and makes cleaning much easier.

It is advised that children should receive sealants as soon as their permanent teeth come in to effectively prevent cavities.

Teeth Cleaning

Our dental team would provide teeth cleanings, consisting of removing all plaque and tartar from your teeth that have accumulated over time. This is usually called a “scale and polish”.

The process of teeth cleaning at EMW Dental

The process of teeth cleaning at EMW Dental involves:

  • Teeth scaling: Dentists remove tartar from the surface of your teeth.
  • Teeth polishing: Your teeth are polished for aesthetic purposes.
  • Flossing with dental flosses.

Teeth cleaning helps prevent bacteria from building up on the gums, which ultimately leads to gum disease. According to American Dental Association, a person is recommended to have their teeth cleaned by the dentist at least twice a year, or once every 6 months

Teeth Extraction

At EMW Dental, we provide tooth extraction services for baby teeth, including cases of loose teeth and cavities.
Besides, we also offer tooth extraction services for teeth that cannot be restored through fillings or root canals due to severe tooth decay, trauma, or periodontal disease. Tooth extraction is also performed when a tooth is causing pain or damaging the gums or adjacent teeth.

we will administer appropriate anesthesia to ensure that the patient only feels pressure but not pain during the tooth extraction. In summary, our dental team provides the following types of tooth extraction:

  • Baby teeth (loose, infected)
  • Permanent teeth (loose, infected)
  • Tooth extraction with socket preservation
  • Wisdom tooth extraction
Our dentists typically recommend tooth extraction when it is necessary for your treatment (e.g., braces, implants, etc.).
However, if you discover that your child needs to have a baby tooth extracted, or you have a wisdom tooth that needs removal.

Gum Abscess Surgery

An abscess is a confined area of pus, which is usually caused by decay in the tooth. An abscess leads to swelling and can be very painful. Once the decay becomes very severe it will affect the nerves and blood vessels, the tooth becomes infected and dies.

Surgery is needed when the infection does not heal after a root canal treatment or when there is still some infection left in and around the root of the tooth. A small opening is made through the gum and bone over the apex of the root to clean out the infection.

If you feel extreme pain in your teeth, along with symptoms like swelling in an area of your gum and dizziness, it is highly recommended that you visit a dentist for diagnosis and gum abscess surgery.

Apical Surgery

Apical Surgery (also known as apicoectomy) involves removing the infection from the tip of the tooth’s root. The inflammation is caused by bacteria or plaque building up on the outside of the root or in the surrounding bone.

Apical Surgery nowadays is very rare to occur. It is often called the last resort to treat your root canal system. Usually, Apical Surgery is required when the conventional root canal treatment is not enough to get rid of the infection at the tip of the root.

Another case for Apical Surgery is when the patient already has root canal treatment but it fails due to operator error, but the tooth is not qualified for a re-root canal treatment.

If you already have root canal treatment but can still feel the pain in the tooth, please do not procrastinate to visit a dentist for a check-up to see whether you need an Apical Surgery.

Periodontic Treatment

Periodontal or gum disease is the infection and inflammation of the gums and bones that surround and support the teeth. The cause of it may come from poor cleaning of teeth, leaving plaque to build up and harden.

The most visible signs of this disease are swollen and red gum, as well as bleeding. The patients may feel extreme pain when chewing as the issue becomes worse. If left untreated, periodontitis can lead to severe pain and possible loss of teeth.

To treat this dental problem, East Meets West Dental provides periodontal therapy including the following techniques:

In case your teeth have permanently been lost due to gum disease, dental implants or cosmetic procedures may be done to replace teeth.

Root Canal Treatment

A root canal procedure is performed to remove the infected pulp of the inner portion of the tooth. The pulp consists of nerves and blood vessels that provide the tooth with life. When your pulp is inflamed due to a long-left cavity or cracks in the tooth that allow bacteria to invade, root canal treatment is called for help.

During the procedure, only the pulp of the tooth is removed while the tooth remains intact. The canal is the area containing the pulp, and it is cleaned and then filled with a non-metallic filling material.

At EMW Dental Clinic, we offer all types of root canal treatment, ranging from primary teeth to adult ones (front, incisor, premolar, molar).

We also have options for re-endodontics, in case you have had root canal treatment before, but the infections remain or the surgery fails due to operator error, causing the inflammation and pain to happen again.

Some signs that you may need a root canal are:

  • Sensitivity to heat and cold
  • Swollen gums/jaw • Pimple on the gums
  • Tooth discoloration
  • Pain when pressure is applied
  • Loose tooth
  • A chipped or cracked tooth

Teeth Fillings

Dental Fillings are used to fix tooth decay or cavities. The procedure includes taking out the decayed portion and filling the vacancy with the Composite resin material to protect the tooth’s structure and restore its appearance and utility. With this material, EMW Dental Crew ensures that the fillings will have tooth color and be aesthetic.

Depending on the size of the cavity, the amount of filling put on the tooth as well as the costs may vary. In case your cavity situation is too severe that not enough tooth structure remains to support a filling, but not to the point of using a crown yet, we offer 2 indirect fillings services: Inlays & Onlays. These fillings last up to 30 years.

Your filling is manufactured in a dental lab according to the shape of your tooth being repaired. It would be cemented into your teeth (premolar and molar ones) in 2 positions:

  • Inlays: within the cusps on the chewing surface of the tooth.
  • Onlays: covering 1 or more cusps (sometimes called partial crowns)

Diamond Attach Filling

Diamond Attach Filling is an aesthetically appealing procedure, also known as “teeth jewelry.” The dentist attaches a thin flat back diamond onto the surface of the tooth. This filling does not interfere with brushing or dental hygiene. The area underneath the jewel is sealed much like a filling to prevent any bacteria from coming in.

There is no drilling or pain involved. The jewel is bonded to the enamel similar to an orthodontic bracket or a filling to your front tooth. The procedure and removal can be compared to the placement and removal of orthodontic brackets. When it is removed it is simply popped off and the tooth will be polished to remove any remaining bonding material.

Teeth Whitening

There are pores within the outer layer of the tooth that collect stains over time. Stains are accumulated from coffee, tea, and smoking.

Teeth whitening treatment enhances the appearance of discolored teeth by removing extrinsic stains. It is the process of bleaching your teeth to make them brighter and whiter.

At East Meets West Dental, we offer several whitening options suitable for the needs of our clients:

01. At-home kit
02. At chair by plasma layer
03. Combination (at chair + at home)

We also offer whitening paste and trays if you only want to purchase these tools separately.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride has been an essential oral treatment for decades. Fluoride varnish can be painted on the surface of both baby teeth and adult teeth twice a year to prevent decay.

The substance strengthens the tooth enamel and makes it more unsusceptible to decay. Fluoride treatments contain a much higher level of fluoride than the amount found in toothpaste and mouth rinses. This treatment can be done in various ways:

  • Varnishes are painted on the teeth
  • Foams are put into a mouth guard, which is applied to the teeth for one to four minutes
  • Gels can be painted on or applied via a mouth guard.

Bridge & Crown and Veneer

A dental crown is a cap to restore the shape, size, and function of decayed, broken, weak, or worn-down teeth. This cap is also used for dental implants and root canal-treated teeth. It fits over the entire reshaped tooth, creating a new “fake” tooth.

Not only can crowns protect teeth from erosion, but they can also serve the users’ needs for chewing and aesthetic purposes. Nowadays, many people want to have bright, even, and beautiful white teeth.

Understanding such rising demand, East Meets West Dental Clinic offers a variety of porcelain teeth options for customers to choose from based on their requirements:

Removable Dentures

Removable Dentures are replacements for your missing teeth. These false teeth are made from acrylic or composite and are placed over the gums and/or the remaining teeth, with the option of being removable.

Removable Dentures enable users to chew food and speak normally, except their bite is not as strong as natural teeth. It is also recommended that the dentures be cleaned twice a day to maintain oral hygiene.

Despite the inconvenience, removable dentures have the edge in teeth restoration owing to their cheap costs. At EMW Dental, we offer several removable denture options:

01. Removable plastic tooth
02. Frame denture

Orthodontics (Braces)

Orthodontics (or braces) is a specialized branch of dentistry that diagnoses, prevents, and treats dental and facial irregularities in the relationship of the lower to the upper jaw, called malocclusions. Orthodontics includes dentofacial orthopedics, which is used to correct problems involving the growth of the jaw.

Orthodontics (or braces) helps align and straighten the teeth. Having your teeth fit together does not only affect the appearance of your face but also the quality of your oral health. By fixing the bite created by 2 jaws, dentists can lower your risk of having cavities, gum disease, and excessive wear.

Nowadays, braces are gaining popularity as more people care about their health and outlook. At East Meets West Dental, we offer 3 types of orthodontics treatment:

Implants

Dental implants serve as the foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like wood fibers like natural teeth. Implants are small titanium posts that act as tooth root replacements and are placed into the jawbone where teeth are lost. The bone then bonds with the titanium and creates a solid foundation for the artificial tooth.

Dental accrual includes two climbing procedures and usually takes a total of six to eight months. In this procedure, dentists will first place a synthetic abutment (or abutment) in place of the lost tooth root/tooth and let the area heal. Once healed, a crown will be placed on top. Depending on your needs, you can choose different types of ceramic armor.
